Meet Dr. Tina Amarnani:

Psychiatric Support ProVider For High-Achievers And Creative Self-Starters

Close-up of a smiling woman with dark hair, wearing earrings and a light-colored top against a plain background.

I specialize in providing conventional and integrative psychiatric care to individuals navigating the high-stakes demands of modern life, including but not limited to college / graduate students, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, corporate leaders, consultants, scientists, engineers, physicians, allied health professionals, and lawyers.

My unique background combines rigorous medical training with a decade of high-level strategic consulting, giving me an unparalleled perspective on the challenges that professionals face across different fields and stages of their career. Having come from a similar background, I am also very familiar with the various personal life stressors and the setbacks, disappointments and even traumatic losses that many ambitious, conscientious, and oftentimes idealistic or perfectionistic individuals can find especially difficult to face along their own journeys - some are externally imposed and some are internally imposed, but thankfully, all are ultimately surmountable with the right support and strategies.

Amidst these inevitable challenges of life, my goal is to help lift you up from simply surviving to thriving by aligning your mental wellness and internal resources with your self-defined ambitions to reach a fulfilling sense of success.  Because the truth is, just like with everything else, we all need to invest the time and effort to learn to live fully.

A Partnership for Whole-Person Wellness

Your care plan is never one-size-fits-all. It's a strategic roadmap for your total well-being, utilizing advanced, evidence-based practices:

  • Integrative & Holistic Care: With certification in Integrative Psychiatry, I look beyond diagnoses to address the root causes of your current distress or challenges.  We will explore nutrition, sleep, lifestyle and other non-medication options alongside traditional centrally-acting psychiatric medications, as our mind’s function is intimately connected to everything in our brain, body and life.

  • Empowering Therapeutic Tools: I use techniques like Rational Living Therapy (a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to equip you with the mental tools to manage stress, reframe negative thought patterns, achieve personal goals, and build lasting resilience.

  • Advanced Treatment Access: I have hands-on experience with cutting-edge modalities such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and ketamine infusions for treatment-resistant depression.  Though I do not personally carry out these procedures anymore, I will leverage my intimate knowledge of their protocols / utility and extensive network of interventional psychiatrists to ensure that you have access to the highest value, most effective treatment options available for your unique needs.

Strategic Insight: Beyond the Diagnosis

My professional history is what sets your care apart. As a former generalist consultant at McKinsey & Company and an independent management consultant for VCs, incubators, and various Fortune 500 companies, I worked on complex strategy, operations, and transformation efforts which was invaluable experience that now allows me to uniquely offer real-world, strategic insights directly applicable to your life:

  • Solving Workplace Stress: I understand the intense, often complex, and systemic pressures faced in various school and workplace settings. I can help you diagnose the core drivers of your stress or burnout, seeing them as strategic or operational issues that can be quickly restructured and optimized.

  • Goal-Setting and Execution: My background is rooted in defining practical goals with clear metrics, optimizing processes, and managing cross-functional strategic plans.  I bring this discipline to our sessions, helping you translate vague feelings of unrest or unhappiness into clear, achievable mental health goals and providing the framework to execute them, just as you would an ambitious business plan.

  • Systemic Perspective on Healthcare: My work helping clients increase patient access, adherence / commitment to self-care and systems approaches to value-based care ensures I approach your well-being with a commitment to efficiency and high-value outcomes.

ACCESSIBLE APPOINTMENTS And Transparent Pricing

I have aimed to keep my practice overhead costs low, time spent on direct care high and prices reasonable for my patients. This means that I do not accept insurance and instead directly charge a flat fee of:

• $350 for a 75-minute initial consultation

• $200 for a 45-minute follow-up visit

• $70 for a 15-minute urgent same day visit

• $30 for 30-day medication refill requests to bridge to the next visit

I leave enough room in my schedule to ensure that initial consultation visits will always be available within 3 business days for new patients and follow-up visits are generally scheduled at the end of the current visit, based on the patient’s unique needs and agreed upon plan of care. Saturday and weekday evening appointments are regularly available for patients’ convenience.

All initial and follow-up visits will be performed remotely through our secure telehealth platform for the convenience of patients with flat fees as noted above charged to the patient’s credit card on file on the day of the visit. Any changes or cancellations made within 24 hours of the visit will be charged at 100% of the visit rate.

Any diagnostic labs that are needed will be drawn and processed by a local lab partner at a separate charge. Testing will be ordered only after an informed consent discussion of their exact purpose in context of the patient’s goals of care and in coordination with other providers, as needed / appropriate. All interpretation of lab results and care coordination will be covered under the standard physician visit fees above. Any blood draw and processing fees will be billed and paid to the lab partner by the patient and/or patient’s health insurance plan.

Many insurance plans will fully or partially reimburse visit fees for physicians outside of their network, and though I cannot guarantee this will be the case for your plan, I am happy to provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance company - please email all invoice requests to drtina@thrivepsychiatryclinic.com.
